Halloween Hotdogs
Nothing says “Halloween party snack” like hot dogs that look like severed fingers—ketchup doubles as the fake blood, of course. They’re creepy, hilarious, and ridiculously easy, which makes them the ultimate spooky treat.
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 5 minutes mins
- 2 chicken or turkey hot dogs
- 2 hot dog buns
- Ketchup about 2 tablespoons (plus extra for serving)
- 1 slice American cheese optional (for fingernail effect)
Shape the Fingers: Use a knife to trim the hot dogs so they match the length of the buns. Cut small slits across the hot dogs to look like knuckles, and slice a small oval at one end for the “nail.”
2 chicken or turkey hot dogs
Boil the Hot Dogs: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add the hot dogs and cook about 5 minutes, until heated through.
Add the Nails: If using cheese, cut it into small rectangles. Once the hot dogs are warm (not piping hot), press a cheese piece into the nail area.
1 slice American cheese
Assemble the Hot Dogs: Slice open the buns, drizzle ketchup inside (the “blood”), then place the hot dog finger on top. Add extra ketchup around the ends for maximum gore.

Serve and Spook: Serve warm and watch everyone freak out before taking a bite.
