As a true gelato lover, during my stay in Siena, Italy, I didn’t miss the chance to hunt down the best gelaterias in the city and personally test them to create my own ranking of the best gelato in Siena.
Among all the gelaterias I tried, I want to recommend four that I believe are the best in terms of taste, presentation, and service. If you love Italian Ice Cream and find yourself in Siena, you should definitely visit one of these four ice cream shops—or all of them—and then let me know which one you preferred!
4. La Vecchia Latteria
When you’re exploring Siena, make sure to visit La Vecchia Latteria. Located at Via S. Pietro 10, this charming gelateria offers some of the best gelato in Siena. I tried the pistachio flavor, which was absolutely incredible – the natural color and rich taste were perfect.
You can even watch the gelato being made through the large glass window, adding a fun touch to the experience. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous, making it a must-visit spot for any gelato lover.
3. Venchi
If you’re searching for the best gelato in Siena, head to Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato at Via di Città 26. This spot combines rich gelato with exquisite chocolates. Upon entering, you’re welcomed by the aroma of freshly made gelato.
I tried the Caffè Nougatine and the vegan caramel cremino, both divine. The friendly staff, especially Cristina, added to the experience. Venchi is a must-visit for anyone wanting to enjoy the best Siena Gelato and savor authentic Italian flavors.
2. Gelateria La Mandorla
Another top gelato in Siena, Gelateria La Mandorla at Via Camollia 36, is a must-visit. This spot is known for its incredible flavors and high-quality ingredients. I tried their pistachio, which was to die for, and the basil-lemon that was out of this world.
The welcoming staff made the experience even more delightful. For a true taste of the best Gelato, Gelateria La Mandorla is the place to go.
1. Gelateria Nice
Also, head to Gelateria Nice at Via Pantaneto 152. Despite its small size, this charming spot offers a wide range of delicious treats, including refreshing frozen yogurt and unique gelato flavors like green apple and Sicilian pistachio.
The lemon cake flavor quickly became my favorite. The staff’s friendliness and professionalism, especially the guy with glasses and an earring, made my visit even more enjoyable. Gelateria Nice combines quality and variety, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking the best Siena Gelato.
