If you ask me, the real reason people show up to your Halloween party isn’t the costumes—it’s the drinks. This Halloween punch is my secret weapon for making Halloween cocktails that disappear faster than candy on November 1st. It’s the only socially acceptable time to drink something with floating eyeballs.
I first made this for a group of friends thinking it might be “too weird.” Turns out, Halloween drinks for a crowd are way more popular when they look a little creepy and taste way too good. Let’s just say the punch bowl was gone before the chips were.
Whether you’re into fun Halloween alcoholic drinks or going full boozy Halloween punch, this recipe nails it. It’s the kind of Halloween party punch that keeps the night going—and might make you forget where you put your broomstick. Handle with care… or don’t.

Surviving (and Thriving) with Halloween Party Punch with Alcohol

Make the Ice Hand or Just Fake It
Sure, the frozen hand made from a glove is spooky and fun, but if you’re short on time (or patience), skip it and dump in a bag of ice cubes. Nobody’s going to call the Halloween police if you don’t have a frozen limb floating in the bowl. If you still want a creepy effect without the glove hassle, toss in a few frozen gummy worms—they look gross in the best way.
When in Doubt, Spike It More
This recipe’s coconut rum is a crowd-pleaser, but if you like your drinks with a little more punch (pun intended), add a splash of spiced rum or vodka. The beauty of punch is that no one’s really measuring after the second glass. Just be sure to taste-test—preferably before your guests arrive so you can adjust without judgment.
No Cran-Pineapple Juice? No Problem
Can’t find cran-pineapple juice at the store? Mix half cranberry juice and half pineapple juice and call it a day. If you want it sweeter, go heavier on the pineapple; if you want it more tart, lean cranberry. Pro tip: don’t overthink it—Halloween drinks for adults aren’t meant to be gourmet wine pairings.

Glitter: Optional but Fabulous
The edible gold glitter dust isn’t essential, but it does make your punch look like a potion straight out of a fairy-tale cauldron. If you skip it, you still get all the flavor, just less drama. Think of glitter as the stilettos of the punch world—totally unnecessary, but you feel cooler wearing them.
Keep It Fresh (or Cheat)
Make this as close to party time as possible so it stays bubbly. If you’re prepping ahead, mix the juices and rum first, then add the ginger ale right before serving. If you forget and it goes flat, just tell everyone it’s “a vintage-style cocktail.” Works every time.
Leftovers… If That Ever Happens
If by some miracle you have punch left over, strain out the candy and stash it in the fridge. It’ll keep for a day, but the fizz will fade. Honestly, though, I’ve never seen leftover boozy Halloween punch survive the night.
